Product details

The ultimate setup for the serious sea kayaker. Equip yourself with the "Essentials Starter Kit" from Segla Gear, a curated selection of professional-grade safety and performance accessories. Designed for reliability in open water, this kit ensures you’re prepared for hydration, recovery, and emergency towing. Whether you're heading out for a coastal day trip or a multi-day expedition, the Essentials Kit provides the peace of mind you need to push your limits.

Included in the Kit:

1. Wave Well Bottle (550 ml) Performance hydration for the cockpit. The Wave Well bottle features an ergonomic, textured grip designed for wet hands and a high-flow nozzle for quick hydration during active paddling. Its 550ml size fits perfectly into standard deck bags and cockpit cup holders, keeping you fueled without the bulk.

2. Flow Line – Manual Bilge Pump Rapid water displacement when it matters most. Weighing just 200g, the Flow Line is a saltwater-resistant powerhouse. Featuring a patented Adaptive Valve for effortless two-finger operation, it’s engineered to clear your cockpit of water quickly and efficiently during rescues, even in the most demanding conditions.

3. LOCK-Line – Spare Paddle Loops Secure your backup with confidence. A dedicated deck retention system that keeps your spare paddle rock-solid in rough seas. Using marine-grade elastic and a low-profile design, these loops allow for a lightning-fast, one-handed release so your spare is ready the moment you need it.

4. CTRL-Line – Quick Release Tow Line The professional standard for assisted rescue. A fast-response contact tow system designed for high-stress scenarios. The waist-mounted pouch keeps the line organized and deployable in seconds, while the heavy-duty quick-release buckle ensures you can disengage instantly under load for maximum safety.

5. ID Safe Sticker – Smart Marine Identification A waterproof identification system built for high-stakes marine use. This heavy-duty sticker integrates a secure QR code that gives rescue teams and first responders instant access to critical information—year of birth, blood type, and allergy data—without compromising your full personal profile.

★★★★★

Just phenomenal — absolutely my favourite paddle I've ever used. At the risk of sounding a bit corny, it's an absolute joy to use. It's incredibly lightweight and very precise in the water; it cuts incredibly cleanly and is ideal for very long days. They've truly changed my relationship with the water.

Competing at the highest level of Greenland Rolling demands a paddle that is precise, light and utterly reliable. The Ikigai is my trusted companion — it delivers the performance and feel I need to compete for a World Championship title. There is simply no other paddle I'd choose.

We built Nordic Paddling around the belief that extraordinary experiences demand extraordinary gear. We use Segla Gear carbon paddles across all our courses and expeditions on the Lysefjord — for the simple reason that they perform exactly as promised, every single time, in every condition.

FAQs

Segla gear materials are incredibly light, does that mean it's fragile?

The weight comes from the materials and engineering, not from cutting corners. Toray carbon fiber, Kevlar-reinforced edges, and an Etha-lite foam core make these paddles exceptionally light AND strong enough for all paddling conditions.

What's the difference between a Greenland paddle and a regular paddle?

A Greenland paddle has a long, narrow blade that enters the water gradually and quietly. There's no sudden resistance, the load builds progressively with every stroke. Most paddlers feel less shoulder and wrist fatigue within the first hour, especially on longer trips.

How do I know which length is right for me?

It depends on your height and your kayak's width. As a general rule: wider boat = longer paddle. For Greenland paddles, most paddlers find their fit between 220–225cm. Our Euroblade Carbon K-Pro models come in two adjustable ranges, 208–218cm and 214–224cm, covering virtually every paddler.

Is there a dealer near me where I can try one?

We are actively building our dealer and test center network across the globe. In the meantime, check our website for the nearest test center, or contact us directly. If there's nothing near you yet, that's a gap we want to fix.
